Kid Kits For Refugee Families

The children and youth of BCC are working together to create Kid Kits for Refugee Families! Kid Kits are gift bags that are filled with comfort items that will be given to the refugee children and youth who are finding their new home here in Whatcom County. We’re excited to partner with World Relief to help kids adjust to their new home in our country. Keep reading if you’re interested!

This children’s book is a great jumping off point for having discussions with your children about. Watch it and talk about it with your kids. I'm New Here by Anne Sibley

NEXT STEPS FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY

1.  Choose the age and gender of the child you’d like to build a kit for.

2.  Take the appropriate shopping list(s) and one bag per kit you’re building. You can download the lists below:

Lists and Bags can be found in Cafe Fika!

Once you’re done, drop bags off right here

3. Shop for your kits. Take your kids and have fun! Use their ideas and opinions...the list you take is a jumping-off point...have fun and be creative.

4. Bring kits back WITH the shopping list inside the bag so we know who your bag is for.  All bags are due by Christmas Eve (all gifts should be unwrapped).
