Spiritual Direction
Companions on the journey
In keeping with the strong history and tradition of our denomination, spiritual direction is based on the formational question: “How goes your walk with Christ?” Spiritual direction addresses questions related to your walk with Christ and provides a grace-filled space to be honest about your experience of life with Christ.
A spiritual director is a trained listener, someone who cares about hearing your story. Directors listen and look for the work of the Holy Spirit in your life, and help you respond to God’s invitations to a deeper relationship and more meaningful life. Over time, the ministry of spiritual direction can help you grow in your
experience of God’s deep love for you,
awareness of your heart’s receptivity and resistance to the movement of the Spirit,
love for God, his people, and his priorities.
Spiritual direction sessions are one-on-one and one hour in length, scheduled once a month. They can be conducted in person, over the phone, or online through video conferencing. Session fees vary from director to director, but most average $25-50 per session. Most directors will set up an initial meeting to answer questions and to see if it feels like a good fit for both of you.
